Obama’s Adventure

t was 1st January, 1997. It was the recorded cold winter in the world. The fireplace at Mr Obama’s house
was broken. He said, “I must do something to keep my family warm.” He kept thinking and suddenly an
idea popped up. He wanted to find some bricks to fix his fireplace so he decided to go to the Great Wall. He
has read a book about China and the Great Wall when he was a child. It is about the durable bricks which
used to build the Great Wall. So he packed his luggage and head to the airport.

There is a bus approaching so he gets on it in no second. Suddenly he said, “Oh, No! I take the wrong bus!”
He got off at the next bus stop and finally he took the bus to the airport.

When he arrived at the airport, he rushed to the boarding gate and caught the soonest flight to China. “It
seems to be everything alright.” He told himself in a relief. So he has a deep sleep all the journey on the plane.
He had a dream about practicing Mandarin. Last, the flight stewardess padded on his shoulder politely to stop
him mumbling. Mr Obama woke up and heard the landing sound. He finally arrived at Beijing.
When he went off the plane, he felt very lost. Everyone there speak only Chinese. Anyway, he got into a taxi
to the Great Wall. However, the driver took him to the Forbidden City instead. He wondered why the driver
didn’t use the Global Position System. He had no choice but to find out his own way to the Great Wall.
He followed the map and walked for quite a while. With a lot of helps from the others, he arrived at the
entrance of the Great Wall. By then, he was starving so he went straight to the restaurant nearby and ordered a
Peking duck.
After a quick rest and big feast, he started to climb to the top of the Great wall. On the half way up to the
hill, he saw a Cable car sign so he decided to take the cable car to save more time. Unfortunately, he found out
that he doesn’t have enough local money but US dollar only. So he had to keep walking although he was very
tired.
When he almost arrived at the peak, he saw some people digging the bricks so Mr Obama thought that he
has taken the right way. He followed the group and went to the peak, then he started digging with a spade. He
dug and selected some bricks until he got enough for his fireplace.
When he was about to leave the Great Wall with a full bag of bricks, the Great Wall has suddenly turned into
a snake and started creeping and moving towards him. It is in red with four legs and very big. He couldn’t
believe it. He tried to reach his phone and call the police but there was no signal! He ran as fast as a tiger but the
snake was chasing him and accusing him of stealing the bricks. The snake spun itself into a hollow trunk. Mr
Obama was trapped inside. He kept crying for help and suddenly he was woken up again by his daughters.
He found himself sitting in front of the fire place which was intact. He breathed a sigh of relief that it was
just a dream. He decided to write a story about his strange dream and the book will be called “Obama’s
adventure in the Great Wall”.
